Bok Choy Question

Post by slinky » 1st Sep, '08, 13:31

Are there other names for bok choy that you might see in the supermarket, or is it always called 'bok choy'? I ask because I was at the Fairprice Finest earlier today and there was an overwhelming amount of cabbagy-leafy-green-type stuff and some of it looked quite similar to bok choy but wasn't listed as such. Figured I must be missing something.

Pek Chye I think is what it's called here. At least in the Cold Storage I go to.

OK, thanks both of you! I bought 'organic' bok choy this morning because that was the only package that said 'bok choy'

It's like when I was looking for cilantro not long after arriving here ---- took me awhile to figure out that 'chinese parsley' and 'cilantro' are one and the same.

Good idea, Kooks. I generally buy Asian veggies at the wetmarket & the aunties there always know what I'm talking about, but Mondays aren't the best wet market days.
