Krsipy Kremes. Tried them for the first time on a holiday a couple of years back, and now the odd and sporadic doughnut will just never been the same.

Come to think of it, better they're not here......

Then again, we do have Spicy Cheese and Kaya Glazed at The Donut Factory. Shudder.

I thought the donut craze had been replaced by a cupcake craze - has this one not reached Singapore yet?

I assume this is at Beach road. Just a concern, does the location have the target audience ie people who like European-style breads?

Edit: Best wishes on on this venture

donuts are definitely over here, the one in raffles is dead quiet, and all the other ones I saw around town have folded up and moved on..

no cupcake craze as of yet, but singapore is ripe for a new one. I did see one place doing cupcakes, but not a raging business

We have been asked by the locals for REAL BREAD ie European bread, muffins, oddly enough they want Sally Lunn type buns. When we tell them we will be doing 7 grain bread, french bread, cobs etc they all get very excited. Muffins are getting a huge amount of positive feedback. One lady said to us - keep the favourite Singaporean lines and then for the rest bring on the European style bread and muffins. That is what we are going to do. Oh and pies and sossige rolls.
"I really love you" she said. "Is that the champagne talking" he asked. "No" she laughed. "That's me talking to the champagne"

"Sossige" is the spelling used by the Mitford girls and their brother Tom :). They weren't allowed to eat pork and Tom couldnt spell very well so when he was sent orf to boarding school he wrote home in huge excitement telling them "we had sossige (sic) rolls for tea tonight" :D. I likes it!

If you where taught in school that good english involves 'ignoring the aforementioned advice and contructing sentences using a methodology designed with the explicit and implicit intention of injecting a high degree of pompous sounding spiel into your prose, then it is my solemn duty (notwithstanding our geographic and spatial separation) to, by the way of the provision of this guidance (which you could consider as an introduction to the views I hold on these matters and given without recourse to a detailed investigation), enlighten you as to the nature of the spititual and temporal realities in which we all function, operate and co-exist.

Spelling sounds too easy for your SM, Correct that!

Nah, Crom's a bigger pedant than me. Get her to do it!

(But sorry, can't go past "were" and "English" in the first sentence...)

Btw, who thought of "Impress, Inspire, Intoxicate" as the slogan for the Good English campaign? Intoxicate?

There was a link on the 'Forum List' page, but cannot find it now. Off Beach Road, near Golden Mile.

Hungry for breakfast now. :D

A woman walked into a pub and asked the barman for a double entendre. So he gave it to her.

I'll ask mel's Place if they mind us bringing some assorted bakery items to try out. You never know, you may even land them as a client.
