Blood Pressure Monitors
Does anyone have a blood pressure monitor at home ? Any recommendations as to what or what not to get ?

Re: Blood Pressure Monitors
I've been using an Osim monitor and it works fine. It also seems to read the same as the one in the my doc's office so I'm happy with it. One of these:

Re: Blood Pressure Monitors
Mine is Omron. I've got mild hypertension, hereditary, and it just helps me keep an eye on it so if it shoots up I know to hit the medication. Probably better to use the medication consistently, I know, but I can pretty much tell when it's likely to be going up. So I start checking and if it seems needed I back myself up with the lowest dose needed.
It seems to be reliable enough and pretty much reflects what a doctor's visit tells me.
On a side note, I often think how lucky we are to have these things. Fifty years ago, we'd have just had a stroke one day. And I would have died in childbirth. Ok, maybe a hundred years ago.

I have an OTO BP932, which I've had for about 5 years and it works fine. Not too expensive either if my memory serves me right.

I have a Braun which wraps around the wrist area (a bit like an oversized watch). It works well.
Recommendation from my nephrologist (kidney specialist) was Braun or Omron, and to avoid the finger measure ones. I noticed that Panasonic make a fair range also, have a look in Best D.
