I'm really not very well today

Post by Kooky » 13th Jul, '10, 17:35

I've had some major trouble breathing. I had it about ten days ago, had a rare couple of days off sick, and then thought I was getting over it, bar a common cold.

Now I keep going dizzy and can't catch my breathe. Bizarrely, I feel like my face is in a vise. If I don't log on tomorrow morning, I've probably died. Neo's away, so you might have to let him know, ok?

Go to your GP, woman! Alternatiely, is there an Oz equivalent of NHS 24 you can call for advice?

Oh Kooks hope you'll feel a bit better tomorrow. We've discussed elsewhere - but seems to be so many people in different countries with this same kind of bug.

The inability to breathe coupled with a vice like head is what's had me going to a specialist for 6 months.

I go under the knife next week (for the first time so I'm shitting myself) for a bit of Sinuplasty.
So…if you wish to wish a wish, you may swish for fish with my Ish wish dish.

Really thought I was over it, croma, and at the sneezing and runny nose stage. Last 24 hours I've gone backwards. See how I am in the morning, but really don't have time to be ill!

(UK trip coming up too - shoes and handbag to be sourced. Easier said than done at the end of the winter sales.)

But but but but.....you're Australian.....surely you don't need any more cranial surgery to get it looking correct?

Err,,,,K, you sure it's not H1N1 flu that you got? It can cause severe respiratory problems indeed.

K: why are you posting on here and not waiting in a doctor's surgery waiting room?

Surely you the symptoms you have go way beyond anything you've had before? Or are you just faking it for attention?

Either get to the doctors or be forever known as an attention grabber.

Well duh - of course I'm an attention seeker!

I took panadol and went back to bed but I'm still sweating and feel like my head's going to explode, so I'll see if I can locate a drop-in-clinic round here. My doc is about 90 mins from here.

Not sure about your suburb, but definitely drop-in clinics in Surrey Hiils and most likely Beaconsfield?

Take care, K and get yourself to a doctor pronto! From the symptoms you've described, I wouldn't delay it a moment longer!

Hope you're at a doctor's right now, K. Looking forward to an update soon.

Baloo, too, take good care.

I feel worse now, it's not Sinuplasty, it's actually Bilateral Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery & Septoplasty.

I fear this could possible be worse than Man Flu.

Eeeek, that sounds like a frying pan to the face. Just focus on how much better you'll feel after it's all taken care of.

I'm sure I used to have a game called Sinuplasty or something like that when I was a little tot - and you could make little characters out of it and it was very messy but fun. But I guess that's not the same. [smilie=tease.gif]

Seriously best of luck baloo. Operations are never nice.

Ok aunties and uncles I've got drugs.

Newtown Medical Centre was an experience :o signs everywhere saying no addictive drugs or cash kept on premises. My first experience of bulk-billing, too. (No bill to pay.)

And in the chemist I witnessed some shoplifting. Newtown, it's an interesting place

Oh we don't live in Newtown; it just seemed the most likely place I could walk in and see somebody, and I knew where it was as it's on my bus route.

That said, I wouldn't mind living there - tons of cafes, eatieries, pubs, quirky shops - but most of the property is small terraces with no parking.
