Manufactured eggs in China
Was reading a report about how the Chinese have come up with the latest thing in their long list of artificially manufactured food. Awhile back, we had the issue of melamine being used in milk powder, and then another documentary of how in one town, their "pao" (buns in Chinese) actually didn't contain meat as it was purported to be, but were actually mashed up cardboard added with flavours to make it taste like the real thing. Now, they're into manufacturing eggs using highly toxic chemicals.
Someone once cleverly shared this: God made heaven and earth, everything else was made in China. Quite true, and in a bid to offer even less expensive options, the Chinese have gone to the extent of selling food that's artificially produced.
What are your thoughts?

If the artificially manufactured food is for the Chinese domestic market, it's a form of population control. Outside of China, people can choose to avoid it.

Re: Manufactured eggs in China
I've seen a TV program about this. It amazes me that it is cheaper to make an egg, than to grow one in a battery farm and although the fake eggs look very real, presumably they don't taste or respond to cooking like a real egg, so why would anyone (however poor) ever buy them?
