TV to watch

Post by Fat Bob » 16th Feb, '08, 13:41

Well, just thinking about some of the best current programs out there at the mo. Seen that Lost season 4 is just coming out in hte States, and also saw Damages: very good. Good acting from Glenn Close as well as the supporting actors. Also saw Terminator:the Sarah Connor Chronicles...not bad, though the first one was just a mini terminator movie, so little predictable. Might be worth keeping on it though.

Unfortunately, this writers strike over in the States is stopping a lot of programs being made or series to end mid-season with a hastily brought about ending (watch Heroes series 2 for that).

UK series...well, Spooks was good, Torchwood is starting season 2, so all looking good there.

Anyone know of anything else?

Foyle's War. Brilliant acting and writing, though some of the supporting cast can be a bit wooden.

Midsomer Murders. There's just something exceptionally satisfying about a small village in the home counties being the murder capital of the world.

As for DVDs of TV shows: Cracker and Twin Peaks.

It's jumping all over the place. 3 different timelines that I've counted so far and it's only episode 4.

Started watching Underbelly. A 13 part mini-series on the Melbourne gangland wars which have resulted in quite a few murders over the last 12 years. Not great, but it's melbourne.

This is Lost.... :D

My take is they had to do that to somehow account for the end of Season 3.

I take it you have Lostpedia bookmarked.

Some great insights but I don't know how intentional they are or people are reaching.

We are in Melbourne and we can't even watch it here. It's banned.

Channel Nine is prohibited from broadcasting the series in Victoria because of an ongoing trial of a man accused of murdering a Melbourne gangland figure. It will be aired after the trial is over. So you could say Underbelly has gone belly up in Melbourne. [smilie=eclatderire.gif]

I really enjoyed Big Love episodes that I watched, but I can't work out the SBS schedule when the seasons are and so forth. going to have to borrow the dvd set.

also like Foyles war which is finished now. Am a regular Midsommer Murder watcher. Wish they'd stop repeating them though!!

Saw the pilot for the Bionic Woman on my way back from Sydney yesterday (as well as The Princess Bride, but that's another story) - v.good and a lot darker that the original (until I found the contrast button - boom, boom!!!). It also, surprisingly, has a plot.

All in all, a BFG rating of "Jolly Good".

The Lost Room

Now showing on star movies, was on axn earlier in the year, very interesting if surreal.

An event happened in the 60s in a hotel room, the person and contents from the room disappeared, but the objects from the room are being found and have special powers. A detective's daughter disappeared in the room and he is trying to get her back but must locate the objects from the lost room to make sense of it all.

Along the lines of twin peaks, without the backwards talking midgets or Fire, walk with me..
