Candidate for the Darwin Award?

Post by Lichtgestalt » 1st May, '10, 17:57

A French boy on a school trip has been killed after he stuck his head out of a bus roof hatch and slammed into a road bridge.

Police say the bus was travelling at about 45mph when the accident happened about 50 miles from the Norwegian capital Oslo.

The 15-year-old boy, whose name was not released, was flown by helicopter to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police said it was not clear why the boy opened the emergency hatch.

The double-decker bus was carrying about 60 French and Norwegian children.

not read your link, and it is a damn stupid thing to do, but from what you've described, I wouldn't say it was the most unusual or uncommon sort of thing to do once you get a bunch of kids, bored, together, mucking around on a bus, showing off or daring each other. it's high risk, stupid stuff that teenagers are kind of known for isn't it?

Tragic. Children hardly ever see the danger do they.

Hardly think this is Darwin award territory.
