hmm not such a good result, nice guy but $40 for a messy loo and unresolved blocked toilet led to.... $150 later for messy loo and no more plugged toilet from different plumber..... So how much is reasonable?

Update on Heng. I've been trying for weeks to get him over for some work. He doesn't pick up his phone, doesn't return sms-es, when I finally get in touch and make an appointment he blows me off then calls later, after my missed calls and sms-es, to say his van and his phone broke down, that was late last week. Tried again today and he says he can't do anything for me for 2, maybe 3, weeks because he's busy.

So I'm giving up on Heng. It was good while it lasted. Any other suggestions? I'm actually in need of a handyman, mostly electrical/wiring (which Heng could also do even though he was a plumber).

It's funny, we (the Forum) had this problem a good few years ago. A lot of us used and recommended one man and he seemed to go off the boil. Maybe they get overbooked?

To be honest I'm not surf how he survived with the rates he charged and being able to turn up so quickly. I imagine he's found a full time job.

I have the contact details of a good electrician who comes around quickly. Got him to change a single to dual plug socket and to change a water heater switch. Got him via NTUC Income - I can give you both their numbers later/tomorrow.

Jumping on this thread whilst it's active... I need a guy who can fix a leak behind my washing machine (not sure the cause) ...and would like the sealant around the shower unit removed and re-sealed... Any Recommendations?
