locking computer

Post by Satellite » 17th Apr, '08, 13:22

Why is it that whenever I lock my computer, and then unlock it, I am automatically signed out from the forum?

It seems to be ok with my yahoo email. ie i will remain signed in even after unlocking my locked computer.

Locking a computer normally disconnects your Wifi internet connection so will log you out of the forum

Um locking doesn't disconnect wifi. Furthermore internet connection and board login status have no dependency. Board login is a cookie. If cookie gone, login gone.

Are you using the default windows locking, or any special software?

I'm running multiple vista PCs and none of them disconnect wifi when locking.

I dont see anything on google that would lead me to the conclusion that this is a known vista problem.

Locking a computer and resuming from hibernate / sleep are not the same thing.

I think it might be too much trouble to find out .... I'll just re-log in each time or not at all

So let me get this straight. You have Singaporum in your browser and you are logged in. Now you Ctl+Alt+Del and Lock. Then you enter password and unlock, go back to your browser, refresh the page and you are no longer logged in?

Must be something to do with the way your browser is managing your cookies. Only thing I can think of. It doesn't happen when I do it.
