Nope, not the same. the first unsuccessful {colon-capital dee} was put in via the keboard, the second (successful) one was done by hitting the smilie on the side of the tect box. Hmmmmm........ :) :) ;) ;) :( :( :o :o

Ahhh....was it because of lack of space in first post...... :D

Yes, it was. Guys and girls, if you want to input a smilie manually, then you have to put a space between words and smiley.

eg:D does not work
eg :D does work
eg;) does not work
eg ;) does work

2-3 mins, those 2-3 mins I spent writting the first one and then testing out.

Remember, us men are quick at technical solutions. Chicks post on forums for technical solutions because we're "quicker" than google. Google takes less than a second to search, so we must be damn quick!

no we post on technical forums because we know men store a lot of generally useless information like techy stuff in their heads, whilst seemingly unable to remember birthdays or anniversaries [smilie=smiley-faces-76.gif]

We have computers and PDAs for birthdays and stuff. We enter all the information, and then.... Oh, you mean there's more to it [smilie=blush.gif] than just the data entry part? [smilie=quoi.gif]

talking of "old dogs and new tricks":

Men, took me a day to remember to put a space before s milie.

Women, takes them a few years to not ask a man what's on his mind.

It was the same on the last board. So it's actually taken him five years to work it out.

Oh no it's not! The problem there was having any punctuation before a bracket or something like that. Unfortunately we can't go back to the old place to prove things! So [smilie=tease.gif]

The smilies have been thrown in quickly. There are enough options to replicate the old board's method of handling smilies. If anyone has the time and inclination, I can send you some tools to create a smilie pak that will allow you to customise the smilie codes in one lot for an easy upload to the board.

It just takes a bit of time, that's all.

Why would you want to type a smilie when you can just click one?

I've seen some quoted posts that aren't displaying the smilies properly. It happens when the smilie is at the beginning or end of the quoted posts and the two ][ don't have a space between them. Something to manually edit until there is a fix.
