Stephen Lawrence murder verdict

Post by daffodil » 4th Jan, '12, 17:55

A big case in the UK, took over 18 years to get the murderers convicted, and then primarily through the perserverence of Stephen's parents in keeping the case alive.

Of course justice won't bring back their son, but perhaps some sense of peace at last.

No sense of peace yet: there was a gang of 5 and only two convicted. One of the convicted is claiming innocence still. So still a long way to go and from what I can see, no further leads on the other 3/4 people.

And unless these two give up the rest of the gang, which I'd guess unlikely, it will remain that way.

So 14 and 15 years (non-parole) sentences for these guys. Wonder if they will appeal.
