Yup, this is my heartwarming story of today, and I must say, WWI must have been a hell-hole, and this seemed to be an act of clear thought amongst it all. My great granddad (and maybe a few other relatives that I don't knwo about) was there, as a medic in the RAMC (though I'm unclear when his service begun or if he was involved).
