So, Apple doesn't support flac ? Really ? I would need to convert 2k+ songs to have them played on an iSomething ?
Is that because flac is superior, open sourced and free ?

According to a quick goggle search, then no.
To play, you have to use a convertor, I've used Switch before, it did the job (but I've no idea just how good it was as I was going to 128kbs mp3 for one of my old phones).
