Airshow is it worth going ?

When in doubt, post it in here.

Airshow is it worth going ?

Post by expat yorkshire » 22nd Feb, '08, 08:58

I have lots of ads for the airshow on the MRT,

Is anybody planning to go ? I looked at the website and it seems to be a more trade focused exhibition rather than something for the "general public"

Never occurred to me to go, but I have come across a number of people - including girls - who are going. Apparently there is an air display at some point

I've been once before. The air shows were very good and they had a lot of cool stuff on show.
Only issue was queuing to get in ... bit of a wait (go early).

EPY - We were thinking the same thing, take the slinks, but when I looked at the website I thought it looked like mostly a trade show too with an aerobatics thing tomorrow and Sunday. Doesn't seem worth the money just for the hour or so of the aerobatics thing. Not sure what we are going to do though.

Edit: hmmm, Changi Village for lunch -- how crowded do you think that will be - i.e. how many others will have the same idea?

Hmmm... the event I went to was the RSAF Open Day... this one doesnt look as good because it seems that all they have is the airshow.

Most children would like these sorts of things. I know I did!

Do you also get to go into aeroplanes or simulators at the show?

Same thing happens in Britain at Farnborough but then it is business that sponsors the event - think the boat show is the same although I have never been to the boat show.

My ex (the surviving one) is there, but he is in the trade, says it is good.
"I really love you" she said. "Is that the champagne talking" he asked. "No" she laughed. "That's me talking to the champagne"

This is the replacement show for the one they lost to Hong Kong two years ago or so. It's mainly trade but they do open on the weekends. A friend of mine offered me tickets for the trade part but I didn't go. He said it's mainly for the free drinks anyway if you don't do business there. For a child it's probably still interesting

We apparently waited too long to deceide whether or not to go because when I logged on to the website yesterday around 9:30am the tickets were sold out  Guess I didn't expect it to sell out - I figured it was at a big enough venue that it wouldn't be an issue.
