Why are you so into GPS units when you don't even have a car?

(Can't see the point here myself, but since you always call me a late adopter I'll probably get one in about 5 years!)

Assuming you don';t mean that I'll only get one in 5 years......Oooh, how exciting. What type? You'll be able to complain about Singapore driving with the rest of us!

Nah epy. Car is 2 years old.
Mortgage is my first house and I'm still in the 3 year can't sell period.
My company paid for my Club membership as a use it or lose it perk.

So now, back to you epy... What bank did you rob ?

For those who HAVE a GPS unit (and a car) how much warning do you get of turns? My theory of how-to-drive-in-Singapore-without-being-driven-mad is to know exactly where you're going and try to get in the right lane as early as humanly possible (only to have 23 people cut in last minute ). With GPS, if you wait for the voice it might be too late to change lanes as no bugger will let you.

I normally they prompts are pretty good . They will tell you of any turns and to get in lane ahead of time .

It may be useful for you scummy with your ( lack of) knowledge of Singapore roads

They are selling units here for $600 with full SIngapore , malaysia and Thailand maps

but cheaper to get from the UK and then load Singapore maps directly around 100 quid for unit with full Euro maps.

Lets go for a beer again soon :D

I suppose would be useful if I went to Malaysia a lot, but I quite like using a mp here and knowing my way around (DO NOT BELIEVE EPY, READERS, HE'S A LYING TOERAG)but if I lived in the UK I'd get one as they're very handy when you go a strange city. My dad has it and lends us it (nd his car) when we're back.

Ok, but you can pay for the beer after defaming me in this fashion 8-)

Ah, very Singaporean. Guy who runs our Post Office tells me white cars are popular as they reflect the heat better.
