[personally, I think getting ahead has more to do with personality and connections. I know too many people with no degrees or really basic ones being ceo, managing partner roles. Mr. Sate for example has 3 Masters but save for his MBA, i don't think they do anything for him. Then again he took them because he actually enjoys studying and writing reports/thesis more than going to the pub when bored.
