Looks like Fidel Castro has resigned -

Not sure it makes all that much difference though:
The 81-year-old Castro's overnight announcement effectively ends his rule of almost 50 years over Cuba, positioning his 76-year-old brother Raul for permanent succession to the presidency.

Interesting that we hear Bush weighing in to say that Cuba should now have free and fair elections "and I mean free and I mean fair". Which is kind of ironic considering the USA's party controlled electoral system.

yes, and the way he was elected prez last time...
you'll never know: they might spread their version of democracy to Cuba the way they did to Iraq. the Iraqis are said to be very happy about it...
