Has anyone started using Microsoft Security Essentials?
Seems it's a free anti-virus and anti-spyware detector, taking over from Windows Defender and the like. I've just checked, I've got Windows Defender (anti-spyware) installed as well as AVG (anti-virus and anti-spyware). I'm wondering when Defender will be deleted and MSE instaled, and if conflicts will start to arise.
Interesting addition from MS, though it really is after the horse bolted!

The reviews look pretty good, enough to try it out, have not tried this one, thanks for putting this up.

anyway, i read it's a bit of a system hog (but what isn't nowadays). I'd think that if your computer uses Vista (which comes with Defender included) the upgrade should go automatically, as they'll probably stop updating Defender soon.
edited to add: for those who don't like the idea of MS getting info from your machine: the Spy Net reporting can't be switched off in MSE.
