I like a good gadget as much as the next man, but I'd never queue for one!

Re: Neo's iPhone
Yup, it has GPS and linked to Google Maps - can do a direction from point A to point B as well (useful if you're walking around or if you want a general direction).
Re: MMS, I can send take a picture, attach it to an email and send it directly from my iPhone. IMO, it supercedes MMS. Besides, with my current phone of 2+ years with MMS features, I NEVER sent any MMS messages. At least I can surf the Net at Kingsford-Smith / Tullamarine / Adelaide Airport without taking my macbook out now, using the wi-fi hotspot and not using my internet allowance.
It synchronises to my iCal / Address Book and can also connect to Microsoft Exchange so you can even connect to your work email if you want.

Let's face it... all Apple products are technically inferior to comparable ones, they just managed to create a hype around it which makes them so successful.

Not on native apps, Baloo - the App Store is open already though so you can get heaps of utilities and additional applications into your iPhone.

As I fell asleep on the sofa last night, discarded, I noticed a credit card propped up by the computer, so I guess this to be true.Fuzz wrote:Not on native apps, Baloo - the App Store is open already though so you can get heaps of utilities and additional applications into your iPhone.

MMS messages are cheaper than SMS to send when abroad. Hence quite useful!
I'm having trouble syncing my phone to my work calender, but I reckon that's more to do with my work servers than with the phone or software.

Publicity stunt or not, the saddest comment must be that he's now "an overnight celebrity".
Edit : BTW Neo, a guy a work got a white one and I must say, it is rather cool after all ! And he only queued until 3am...!

Re: Neo's iPhone
A colleague has a Samsung Omnia and it certainly has all the extra bells and small wind instruments, but it still runs WM6, which is as dire you would expect from the people who bought you Windows. The HTC looks very nice and they seem to have done a fine job of hiding the generally crappiness of the WM interface.
As an avowed Apple person, who uses iTunes. iPhote and Mac mail. The iPhone looks like the best bet from an integration point of view, plus the user interface is bound to be better than the alternatives
I think I have sent about 2 MMS ever..

Re: Neo's iPhone
Seriously, what's so great about MMS? The one time I was sent one (by the Singapore police) it crashed my phone.

I still can't believe this new found whizz bang device everyone is dying to have doesn't support MMS. I guess that puts the iPhone only 6 years behind the times.

Re: Neo's iPhone
The more I hear the less I'm interested. There's other phones out there with similar capabilities that aren't as difficult to get and don't require you to install a 1001 applications.
Hmmmm....one of the Nokia's is supposed to be pretty good at this, and yeah, the HTC Diamond.

Re: Neo's iPhone
Yeah, not impressed with the N95 on looks. Will wait for the N96 to come out to see if it's what I want.
Anyone know where I can go play with one of these before buying? I'd like to compare the HTC and Nokia ones and if I've got the oppurtunity, the iPhone.

Re: Neo's iPhone
Have they fixed the bugs with the OS on the N95? I was looking at it before I got my HTC and the guy in the shop recommended not to take it as most of them were coming back with freezes, etc.Fat Bob wrote:Yeah, not impressed with the N95 on looks. Re: Neo's iPhone
the N95 doesn't look very impressive, agree.
i've been looking at the HTC's and must say they are quite drool worthy. better priced than iPhone and those Samsungs as well...

Re: Neo's iPhone
HTC Diamond and Omnia are the same price here I think. Imagine that the iPhone will be much the same
Why do you need a floppy drive?
