Ok, it's pretty much how it came out of the box so I may need to (get Neo to) look at that, thanks. Still confused why it would be wrong though.

Have to say, as per the reviews, the battery life is awesome. :)

Damn, and that new HTC Snap looks good. The HTC interface looks the best, hearing this I'm not about to give up my e71 for one. I like my hardware volume and mute controls too much.

Too bad the HTC theme for Symbian doesn't look that good.

Now I have a HTC-ish skin for Firefox, which looks great, and am trying to find a Vista HTC-ish theme. Heck I'd write one if I could figure out the software.
I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book. Groucho Marx

Got the TYTN II back today. Slipped in the new SIM card. Everything works perfectly.

Let the games begin.....

Fired off the first email (can't get anyone on the phone) with a first line that has the words "at best gross negligence or at worst fraudulent" in it. Lets see how it goes.

they'll probably try to either ignore it or wish it away by sending you a standard nothing reply and then do nothing hoping you will forget it.

Did you copy in the Straits Times?

I sent my 3rd email to the Country Head yesterday informing him that I will endevour to make contact with other customers of HTC who may have had the same treatment from their service centre, whether they know it or not.

I also mentioned I will in parrallell contact HTC in Taiwan because I feel that someone senior with HTC needs to address the fraudulent and possible illegal practices of their Singapore Centre.

Of course, someone from HTC could call me and save all parties a lot of time, energy, frustration and bad press.

I had major issues with Toshiba support in Singapore many years back. I explained the entire situation to Toshiba Japan in Singapore (different entity to their support, Toshiba Data Dynamics) and all my problems were resolved. It looks like the same deal with HTC - their support is being run by SiS Technologies Pte Ltd isn't it?

Had a phone call from the Country Manager. he read out the services reports, I pointed out where they were blatantly lying to him.

He even went as far as offering to replace the motherboard for free but I explained to him there is no need because the phone is working perfectly.

He is going to get back to me.

Progress but slow progress.

"No thanks, I don't want a new battery for my TYTN II, I am selling it".
