Bought new transformer, still works, absolutely love it, and it will play music off a shared folder on your computer
Mine did the same last week (and it also happened to my brother's in Zim) so I suspect design fault from dodgy Chinese factory. I bought a new multi-voltage, multi pin replacement from Funan for $25 and all good now.

Good luck finding one that supports it, it seems that most don't. To keep our wireless reasonably secure, we're using a spare access point to run 802.11G at lower security for the radios. That AP only runs during certain hours (at low power, hidden SSID etc) and only allows the radio MAC addresses to access it.

If you type 'A4955' (which was the catalogue number) into a search field on the DSE site, you'll get the ghost of where it used to be in their inventory database. Not that it'll be of any use.

I use an FM transmitter and an ordinary radio. Cheap as chips but works just as well. Of course, your computer has to be playing the radio station you want and you have to go to the computer to change channel.

I keep my wireless secure by firing a bazooka shell at anyone parking within 100m of the house.

Insider information. If you do a search on "Grundig" it won't come up. Clearance stuff, which they stop advertising via the site, can often only be found by using the Cat Number. While there's still stock in the database the full item details and stock levels by store will appear. Once the stock reduces to zero, the item description is deleted off the database, although the placeholder remains for a while longer, hence the references to Grundig, etc which still come up.

I sometimes keep an eye out for stuff I'd like but am happy to wait for until it's cheap. As soon as an item disappears off the regular website searches, it's often an indication that they're clearing out the remaining stock - and often it goes dirt cheeap.
