buy a domain name and hire a web designer?

GoDaddy.com offers two years, about $150, but that is only with 1 email addy...

Hmmmm. We will buy the domain once we work out the business name but then need a web designer. Anyone know a good one that wont charge $$$$$$. My partner is quite IT savy and can update it but she doesnt know how to design it and we need at least 3 email addresses.

Register domain, install (free) Joomla! CMS, then you can DIY.

I am in the middle of doing one for someone else at the moment....

But the most difficult part of a website is layout and content. The engine to put that on the web is not that difficult (for the techies among us). The good thing about a CMS is ease of updating content, as opposed to modifying and re-publishing HTML. One of the (many) excellent things with Joomla is it's modular approach. If you want to add new features to your site, chances are that there's already a plugin available. No need to re-invent the wheel and build anything from scratch.

p.s. indeed we did have a lovely time shopping for the red Dell.

Yes, Jan is for january. no, not boxing this time, trying to lose a shed load of weight so I can run 10km in 58mins. Trying to run with current weight will just break something, so need to lose weight before I commence the running training.

And I think Santa lost my address many years ago. Probably because I don't have a chimney in Singapore.

However, the beer bear managed to find me in Singapore. He's great!
