movie sharing/viewing

Post by Satellite » 20th Apr, '09, 14:59

I've tried searching to see if I can actually upload short movie clips (maybe 3min or so) onto picasa web albums but can't seem to find that function. So my question is, is it possible to upload movies on there?

Second question is, if not possible, can you recommend a website where I can upload both pictures & movies to be viewed by my friends. (preferably not facebook) I prefer a website where the party viewing need not register or log in to be able to view them.

Picasa for photos.
Youtube for vids.

You can certainly make picasa pics private. Not sure about youtube, but would think so.

Thanks but it seems like for "you tube", one can't attach photos (not a one stop shop)! And for "multiply" my friends will have to have the hassle of registering and loggin in to view my photos and movies. :(

Ah, of course, you can only make your youtube private if the other user is logged in. Well....in that case it's difficult.

Either they have to log in (like youtube) or you have to give them a specific site in order for them to look (like picasa). At least youtube is less invasive than Facebook.

open up a blog on one of the free blog websites that allows you to upload photos and videos.

The beauty of youtube is that there are soooooo many baby home videos that it would be a struggle to find yours by accident.

Do baby home videos have high hit rates? Grandma and Grandad can't use a 'puter, so who else would want to look? :D

It depends on how you name the baby. Make it similar to a WWE wrestler and you get all sorts of weird and wonderful people commenting on the video, especially from the US.

No they don't have to register. If you set the viewing permission to "Everyone", even non-multiply users can access it.

That's a big assumption. I know 80 year olds who use puters. They were only 50 when the first PCs came on the market.

if you are using picassa, try using google video, they have a bigger size limit than youtube....and i think you can make it private but still send the link with no logging in.
