Does anyone have experience with portable DVD players ? We've got a few trips planned so we need something to keep BBIII amused.
Requirements:
Ability to play DVIX - MUST
Good Battery life
Not too heavy
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Re: Portable DVD Player
Choice did a test on these some time ago, however the models tested aren't necessarily available outside Australia and are likely superceded by now. One of the ones they recommended was an LG model.
I've got an LG 7", similar to the one tested by Choice, which has been very good, it's about 3 years old. Mine plays DIVX and VCD. Battery life is OK, but it does tend to go flat a bit faster if left attached to the player between uses. I bought a second battery (which wasn't too expensive) for mine. It's not heavy, and seems to be quite durable. It also remembers where it was up to if you switch it off partway through a movie (apparently some don't).
Choice noted that the one they tested was set for Region 4, however multizoning my LG was easy, something like (1) open disc tray (2) press 0,0,0,0 on remote, (3) change region to 'all' on the menu that appears.

Re: Portable DVD Player
Get a mini-pc to do it. you've got most of your movies on DivX anyhow etc. So just an extension. Those things are $6-800. You might find it cheaper outside of Singapore.
