Which Download Manager are you using?
I've used it for over a decade now, but with all the bugs and apparent lack of maintenance, it's well past time to dump GetRight.
Any suggestions for replacement? Tried FlashGet, which was bad and Free Download Manager, which is so far looking pretty good. Any others?

I use ReGet
Does the job but with a 150MB internet connection I really don't have a need for one. It's just force of habit that keeps me using it.

Download manager? So what's wrong with clicking on a link and allowing Chrome to download it?

Not everyone uses Chrome. Download managers do multi-part downloads and resume failed downloads plus other stuff.
Not everyone lives in a country that has fiber networks so Download Managers can make a HUGE difference to throughput and reliability.
Why don't you try thinking sometimes FB, might be a new experience for you.

Hmmmm...surely if you were thinking you'd be looking at tech forums and searching websites with renowned reviews rather than asking for opinions among us bunch of muppets. Welcome to the Land of No Thinking!

Already did that. Just wanted to see if there were any other opinions from the handful of IT savy peeps on the porum. You are obviously not part of that group.

Re: Which Download Manager are you using?
hmmm..... what I'd like to find is a decent website crawler that will copy all the pages and associated files within a website; eg, downloading class materials (videos, pdfs, syllabi, etc) for offline study. Any suggestions? (As an alternative, I've tried using flashgot to download all links on a page but with mixed results- sometimes all the files download, sometimes not. Video files often do not.)
