I'm surprised there isn't more of a rant against beauty contests in general, or is it ok now that a non-anorexic girl won one ?

Well I guess I was heading vaguely in that direction but I wouldn't go so far as to rant against them. I think they're pretty irrelevant, but does anybody force the girls into them? (Adults, I mean - not those dreadful child pageants.)

There are far more worthy things to rant about.

Re. English/Brit chicks being overweight - well I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion it's a global thing, in the developed world at least. I'm a fine one to talk but I've seen some incredibly unhealthy looking folk here. Also I'd forgotten just how big meal portions are here; they're obscene and I bet they have a lot to answer for.
