Watching press conference now, confirming the rumours.

No more Singapore stopovers for me, then :(

Hmmm, does this mean we don't have to put up with middle of the night flights from Sing to Mel any more? That would be good. Not sure about the rest.

Watching with interest, PP. We have a UK trip booked for March - press suggests nothing will change before April but who knows?

That's a bit of a bummer for you. Mind you, Dubai in March will be quite nice weather ;)

Oh we don't have a stopover planned then anyway. We're off to Ireland for a wedding as well as the UK, no time for a stopover too.

It has been pointed out to me that Emirates goes to regional airports, not just Heathrow. Perhaps this is not such bad news after all :)

Yeah, we generally use Emirates and fly to Birmingham - makes life a lot easier.

Oh come on, really. What issue is this at all? If you're intent to come via Singapore, you still have BA and SQ. And you can still get to the UK. Simple.

They're called Airmiles, Bob, and also we'll possibly have very little choice with BA in future.
