Interesting... enjoyable but silly.... great action sequences that just kept on going... at 158mins you are in for some dramatic events - the disaster movie to end all (literally)

I also watched the age of stupid - that was a lot more depressing and a bit of a tool to use to whip public opinion prior to copenhagen...

Just saw it. Yes, it has great effects. Awesome even. If that's your measure of a great movie go and see it or buy the BluRay.

But they really dragged it out, and the story was a typical US-manufactured disaster movie. After the first hour I was wishing they'd just get on with it and all die horribly so I could escape from the cinema and get on with more interesting things. Would I pay to see it again? No. Buy on disc? No. But that's just me.

Empire gives it 4 stars. Rotten Tomatoes rates it at 37%

I would pass it for the effects but it wouldnt even manage a C - so 53% for my liking... i know it was shit... i knew it before it started and I cant stand the necessity to save the dog in front of 7 billion people but then again as you say Bender - thats a typical US disaster movie.

I must admit to getting up and leaving the cinema several times to make calls - pee twice - and even in the seat i posted on facebook 3 times and read 2 articles from the NY times...

This is probably a mistake but we're going to the 11am show. I never go to am shows.

But after seeing The Informer last night we need something cinematic to round out the weekend.

...and that's what we got. Nothing more nothing less. Missable but wouldn't have missed it on the big screen. Don't go into it expecting anything more than spectacle.

Apparently its banned in Indonesia.... this means one of a few things:

1. Indonesia's government has refined taste that they single out this rubbish and stop it from coming in.

2. Indonesian people once seeing this will run amok
