Here's a recipe for a quick chocolate cake - just in time for morning coffee!
Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons cake (self-raising) flour
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 1 microwave-safe mug
Method:
- Place flour, sugar and cocoa in mug and mix together
- break egg into mug and mix
- add milk and oil and mix well
- put in microwave for 3 minutes on maximum power (1000 watt)
- wait until it stops rising and sets in the mug
- tip contents out of mug onto a saucer and enjoy!

I saw the Hairy Bikers do something similar the other night (they were in Mehico). Don't you need to grease the mug?

I've not needed to, think there's enough oil in the recipe to ensure it doesn't stick.

I shan't be trying it as it's full of banned substances but what kind of oil do you recommend?
(This interest in cooking is worrying; must switch off daytime telly.)

Ordinary cooking oil. Vegie or canola for this. Wouldn't recommend peanut or any that might influence the flavour.

Is it a warm cake - ie with molten chocolate inside or a proper cake?

If it's anything like it was in our house, MrT will get a surprise at every meal.

OK, when you say 'cocoa' is that the unsweetened kind or not?
Sounds good, I want to try!

Slinks
With 4 spoons of sugar I'd say yes. If cocoa isn't the drink and refers to powder it should mean pure cocoa.

Um, no. I'm allergic to seafood.

Yes, I tried it too, but I think my microwave must be under 1000 watts so I'm going to have to play with the cook time a bit to perfect it. But it was still yummy!!

"I really love you" she said. "Is that the champagne talking" he asked. "No" she laughed. "That's me talking to the champagne"

Not that you'll be eating it of course because it's full of things to which you are allergic.

Tried it at work today - it works!
The cake's a bit dry but tastes great so I'd probably either lessen the time or the power - the microwave at work is pretty powerful (1100W).
