How sad.

Jane McGrath was quite a woman who battled so much since being diagnosed with breast cancer when she was just 31. Kudos to Jane and husband Glenn for their ongoing commitment to raising awareness of breast cancer in Australia.

Jane was a dignified woman with a great sense of humour and absolute lust for life. I liked her immensely.

I'm finding this really upsetting.

Jane McGrath was just one of those people I fell in love with as a person after the first time I saw her interviewed. She was just everything as a person I would aspire to be and never have a snowflakes chance in hell of being. She was someone I looked and said to myself I wish she was my best friend. And from the memorials, it seems she had that effect on everyone, both in her personal life and public life.

I read today Matt Hayden had said "The heart and soul of Jane was her heart and soul"

I often find the whole public grief thing quite weird and quite unnatural, you know that whole Princess Di thing, my explanation here is it seems everyone looks at this woman and see's the best friend ever that made them laugh standing in her shoes.

You can't help but like her. She had such a positive outlook on life considering what she was dealing with!!! Such a fighter, and she did so much for other people when her own health was going downhill. I too found her to be an incredible person just after watching her in an interview. An amazing woman and truly inspiring.

Some people can just do that. She certainly had that way with her, and you knew that it was all real not put on in any way, no wonder people feel like they have lost a friend. As Fyn said, truly inspirational.

Saw some footage of Jane's funeral on the news earlier - and there can be no doubting that Holly is her daughter, they are so alike!

I like this little glimpse into her sense of humour as relayed by her friend, Tracy Bevan, a few months younger than Jane. As Jane reached her 40th, Tracy asked her -

"How does it feel to be old and 40?" To which Jane replied "Great. How does it feel to look 40?"

RIP Jane McGrath.
