it's almost biblical...
the natural misery deposited on Victoria, fires, floods and now locusts...
the worst swarming in 75 years, they expect, with egg beds covering an area the size of Spain containing billions of eggs. and the first hatchings have already started near Mildura and Horsham.
and this was the first real green spring we were having since we got here. ah well, at least i won't have to mow the lawn anymore...

Holy crapamoly.
A woman walked into a pub and asked the barman for a double entendre. So he gave it to her.

Hahahah! The Age website got a malaware warning from google chrome!
Shame about the locusts. You holding Moses against his will or something? Ye non-believer!

I drove through a locust plague once when travelling from Sydney to Melbourne. Had to stop at every petrol station, line up for the high pressure water house, run out in the midst of the bastards and remove all of their dead cousins from the windscreen and radiator, then onwards again.
It was novel for about the first 30secs.

Well , M, it's clear that the End of the World is coming to Victoria first.

I hope they get them under control, nasty horrid little creatures. Ugh, the thought of them here is just unbearable.
I have driven through locust plagues as well, central NSW mainly, and it is not only that they get all over your car and that lovely yellowy green goo has to be washed off but they end up in the air ducts as well...and dammit they hurt when they hit you!

Prayer has no place in public schools. Just like facts have no place in organised religion.
