Re: One of these men..
Thanks Daff...made me smile, probably all that will this election day.
Just spent 42 minutes and 53 seconds voting. Never stood in line for so long and not got a fun ride or similar at the end of it. Yes, timed to the second because I dragged my son along just to give him an idea of what fun awaits him from next March onwards. He was not impressed and now holds me accountable for these lost minutes of his life. Of course that time did include buying the mandatory sausage & sauce in a slice of bread.

I'll see your 42 minutes and raise you another hour at least ! The Australian Embassy in Manila not really set up for major polling day...waited over an hour just to be allowed into the elevator bank to get to the Embassy office. Only 10 people allowed in the Embassy at any one time and once inside just 3 polling booths. Definitely no sausage sizzlePinklepurr wrote:Thanks Daff...made me smile, probably all that will this election day.

Obviously the bloke I know got it wrong. And some websites.
You must register within 3 years of leaving Australia, and have an intention to return within 6 years. Then it's an enrolment every year, whilst still stating that you intend to return.
I reckon you should all just go back....

You are allowed to opt out which is what I did when we were OS. Sometimes (like today) I wish I could opt out here as well.

Beer and pizza on the couch with election watch pretty much over. Had to do an interstate vote, had to drive, train, walk length of the CBD. Then shortest vote time ever once at venue, then repeat return home same time, think transit was over 2hrs in total. Libs for the next 6yrs.
Nothing is more conducive to peace of mind than not having any opinions at all.

Re: One of these men..
Not quite the rout that the Murdoch press was salivating for, time for the ALP to re-group under a new leader and put the Gillard-Rudd debacle behind them and get back some credibility.
Whilst it was definitely a rout at Suncorp last night, horrible performance from the Wallabies
