They were enticed with the promise of me in the evening.

The pancakes were just icing on that cake. [smilie=bandevil.gif]

Lemon and sugar...and conveniently we bought a tub of Nutella on the weekend.mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I always debate if i should give up chocolate for lent and always fail miserably, and i've tried alcohol too and failed miserably. So maybe this year i'm going to go with a positive and aim to take the dog out for a walk in the morning before work.....at 6am.... :)

Liberal beats Olney, England, in annual Pancake Day race

BY BECCY TANNER

Liberal wins ... again!
Nicole Schowengerdt of Liberal ran the International Pancake Day race in 63 seconds today, besting Olney's best runner by nine seconds.
Each year on Shrove Tuesday, runners from Olney, England, and the southwest Kansas town of Liberal compete to see who can run the best time in an annual pre-Lent pancake race. It is considered the only race of its kind in the world.
According to legend, the Olney race started in 1445, when a harried housewife arrived at church still clutching her frying pan with a pancake in it.
Liberal challenged Olney to a friendly trans-Atlantic competition in 1950 after seeing a picture of the race in a magazine.
The race is always run at 11:55 a.m. on Shrove Tuesday, also known as Fat Tuesday.
Liberal now leads with 36 wins to Olney's 25. One year, the score didn't count when a BBC television van blocked the course in England.
