What are you happy about today?

Re: What are you happy about today?
I'm happy 'cos I'm going to be cold and see the snow in January. First skiing holiday in 3 years as we've been on the wrong side of the world.
It's always nice to hear success stories FB; must be a huge relief. Mr BK's father was very seriously ill with same over 25 years ago and is as fit as a fiddle today (77 ish).

So, it's 8:10 and what made me happy today? Well, just seen this: OK, unashamed attempt at a Xmas No 1 from Coldplay, but still quite like it. Let's hope another album or tour is in the offering soon!

It's lovely to see you so happy FB, but what's brought on all this Happy Days stuff? What am I missing?

I'm happy because I completed The Mother of All Huge Projects yesterday. On time. To the day.
Of course, I'm blind in one eye and can't see out of the other, but hey! I'm done.
What is this banana doing? It looks like he's dancing in his sleep. If that's what he's doing, then that's my smiley today.

A woman walked into a pub and asked the barman for a double entendre. So he gave it to her.

Re: What are you happy about today?
I regularly think "wow, I'm happy today" and it could be for one of many reasons. I thought I'd share that through here (and not through Facebook where it would get lost amongst what people are having for dinner).Scrummy Mummy wrote:It's lovely to see you so happy FB, but what's brought on all this Happy Days stuff? And of course, I wanted to celebrate with all those other people int he world that have a special day today. Hence my wishes to those having such a day.

Great news about your dad FB! May it make you smile for many years to come.
It is great to have a thread about good and happy things, such a change from all the doom and gloom.
I am happy today because I managed to get into the city to get to see Mark Webber and get a signed copy of his book as a surprise present for Mr PP and I found the perfect gift for my brother as well. I love it when you get just the right thing.

fab news about your Dad, FB!

Great news about your Dad there FB.
Funny the things that make you happy. My bedridden, elderly neighbour yearns to go to the local M and S foodhall. I was there yesterday and really tried to enjoy it for her. I remember how fab it was when we first got back to UK but that was mainly to do with having food like that available not the venue. But it is the little things you miss when they are taken away I guess.
Me, I'm very happy that I have all my Christmas shopping done (and for 8 family birthdays in December)! Which means I can enjoy the snowy vista from the comfort of a fireside spot. Bliss.

Morning all! Today's happiness is now focus on next weeks trip. Looking forward to the brekkie, wine and concert, and catching some of the Ashes on TV in a pub. Which I may do this weekend too!

A song came on my iPod this morning which started with the lines:
'You should be glad,
You should be happy to be alive!'
Made me think of Fat Bob's Happy Days

Re: What are you happy about today?
the gods look down on those who have diligently been working through their to do list this week.
now I have a very popular hair dresser, our Kooky has had to take a day off to get an appointment before Christmas. So I'm ringing ahead to try get my own appt before Christmas, not getting too far m'self and we were moving to plan B about afternoons off. And lo and behold, she says ahhhh I have a cancellation for 9am tomorrow and I'm going to pop you straight in! surely the ladies know the happiness that abounds when these things fall in your lap. that has made me happy today
AND I've done a really good effort on my to do list that I feel good about a restful weekend by 5pm Friday, that has also made me happy today.

Good going litchy!
And Tas: does the hair dresser also provide bubbly whilst your hair is being done? If so, you'll be happy at 9am tomorrow too!

Fat Bob is not so happy today: Fat Bob was enjoying the company of a work colleague until rather late.

Re: What are you happy about today?
It's a real hardship, I tells ya Got my shopping route planned already. Activists' party the night before (so you know that'll be full of, erm, interesting people, and I'm told alcoholic slushies are a fiver), Neo's co's party that night, departmental party the afternoon after, and invitations to housewarming and emigrating parties on the Saturday and Sunday that I haven't yet committed too as I think I might need a break(down) by thenTas wrote: our Kooky has had to take a day off to get an appointment before Christmas
I'm generally quite happy at the moment. Family has gone to shit, Dad is being a drama queen, sister is being sister, I made a stupid plan to go back for Christmas, boss is having a nervous breakdown and I'm trying to keep my team together so work is quite stressful but you know what? I don't care.
We finally have a home.

That's cool, Kooks.
I'm thankful that the packing and sorting is getting done, and in 8 days we'll be on our way.
Although I'm SO looking forward to Perth and, as you say, finally having a home I'm sad to be leaving some lovely people here. Oh, and that I'm awake at 5am on a Sunday morning thinking about all the things I havee to do..........

Well at least with SD having adrenal fatigue, he can be awake with you
8 days! It will fly. Tip from me, don't arrange an afternoon tea for the day you leave and have everybody wave you off as you go. That's the one that finished me off
