I know. Having scoffed two large slabs I shall now go and say 1500 Hail Marys in repentence. But being completely unreligious I suspect that Mary will take no notice whatsoever.
Speaking of religion, here's a little story told to me by a Muslim friend.
It's the Samaritans call centre in Afghanistan and a call comes in from Ahmed. The transcript of the call reads as follows:
Ring Ring
Hello
Hello, is this the Samaritans?
Yes my friend, how can I help you?
My name is Ahmed and I need to talk to someone.
Sure Ahmed, that's what we're here for, what would you like to talk about?
Well, life really sucks for me and I'm getting really depressed.
I'm sorry to hear that. How is this depression affecting you?
Well, to be honest it's so bad I'm seriously thinking about suicide.
Oh that's terrible.....(long pause).......Ahmed, can you drive a truck?

Spike. If there was a hell, you would have a 1st class ticket there for that. Well done!!
PS - In a spooky, coincidental sort of way, some guests on their way to Oz dropped off a 1kg bar of Cadbury's Milk Choccie. I don't even care that it's metric...

Fingers crossed that you packed your wet weather stuff, K. Looks like Armageddon outside.
But on a positive note - don't think we'll get snow....

Bloody awful weather here and Tas is blaming us for bringing some rain. Shame we didn't bring the temperature too.
Oh gentlemen, here's a tip for you - sharing a section of an A380 plane with approximately 80 teenage Japanese schoolgirls is nowhere near as much fun as it may sound.

But Canberra is always like that!

Misconception - Canberra has 4 distinct seasons. Summer is (bloody) hot, so we look forward to winter, and winter is cold (with crisp but clear days), so we look forward to summer. Spring and autumn/fall are beautiful, especially the autumn colours, It's very rarely humid, which was one thing that drove me nuts after a while in Singapore. Rainfall, like most places in Oz has been very low the last few years - we're in drought, with water restrictions in force.
Season : Avg. Minimum - Avg. Maximum (Celsius)
Spring : 5 - 19
Summer : 12 - 27
Autumn : 7 - 20
Winter : 1 - 12
These are averages, overnight in winter can get as low as -9, and summer can get up to 39.
