Rim Job
In my attempt to generate discussion on this board how about the topic of
'Bling for Cars'
When I moved back to the states after 9 years in Singapore a new trend was apparent on the streets. Its now the fashion among certain segments of society here tot spend $1000's for flash chrome wheels ie;Rims for their car.
Now the car manufacturers are joining in by having several 'rim' options nowadays
I took these photo's in a couple of minutes outside a low rent apartment complex. I asked one of the Mexicans in our warehouse why he spent $1000 for Rims for his truck as that was a lot of money
He replied 'because when I look at my truck it makes me feel good'

It must be Picard Facepalm day.
A woman walked into a pub and asked the barman for a double entendre. So he gave it to her.

Certain segments of US society will live in dumps but spend thousands on their cars, and other frivolous crap. Not only the US, obviously. Saw lots in Australia too (Utes!).

The 'pimped out' cars are certainly mind-boggling. I would spend my $1000 on educating my kids or a trip somewhere interesting but it is all about what ones priorities are.

It has always been a thing I think, remember in high school kids wanting (in Canada we called them Mags) them for their cars, broke high school kids spending 500-1000 bucks on mags for cars worth 500 bucks....guess they are now grown up... Still broke, driving cheap cars and buying mags

Re: Rim Job
We called them mags as well. These were the most popular type when I was a teenager

Oh dear, the old Dragway mags...I remember those. Actually do you realise they still sell the very same type, they've never gone away.
