Singapore Post
This rant is almost worthy of a letter to the Straits Times.
Singapore Post - biggest distributer of letters and parcels island wide. It's the Public Postal Licensee, which probably means it's the only company with a license to deliver mail and collect off streets and the like. And hey, when you post a letter before 5pm on one day, it's uaully at it's delivery point by 5pm the next day.
So, why do Singapore Post find it so difficult to get a parcel from Paya Lebar to Clementi in anything less than 2
"working" days? Why do re-deliveries always take until the next day?
Pretty damn useless if you ask me! I laughed, but didn't watch, the video entitled "Committed to Delivering" which is on their website.

Re: Singapore Post
it's the scanning for illegal substances and explosives that takes so much time.

Re: Singapore Post
I'm sure that's done well before it gets the original attempt to deliver the item.

Re: Singapore Post
Maybe they are trying to promote their speedpost service which costs more for same day delivery.

Re: Singapore Post
Delivery from International source, and it says "speedpost" on the delivery advice, so I presume they are lying. There's nothing speedy at all in it!Satellite wrote:Maybe they are trying to promote their speedpost service which costs more for same day delivery.

Re: Singapore Post
I'm confused. Are you posting something from Paya Lebar to Clementi or to and international location?
Whatever it is, there are 3 delivery levels where speedpost is concerned, if I recall correctly. You have to pay more for speedier service!

Re: Singapore Post
sate...quite simple, someone posted something to me from the US. Therefore it'll be some sort of international parcel post or something. The article noticifcation (little postcard they post thru your door if you are not there and don't have a live-in maid or wife to accept it) arrived on wednesday.
I phone up on Thurs morning - "delivery to post office near you 2 working days, redelivery 1 working day". I could, of course, go over to Paya Lebar, where their parcel centre is, and pick it up myself. Why, how convienient.
They are paid to do this sort of thing, they do it every day, how bloody difficult is it for them to sort it out? why does it take longer to move it to a post office than to move it to a delivery address?
Fukcing useless!

Re: Singapore Post
Another cosmic sign that you really should shack up with Aliya.........
Re: Singapore Post
very strange... we do recieve parcel from the UK and US and never encountered such issues when we were not home. The note normally says to collect at the nearest post office which is at geylang, a walking distance for me.(and I woul dbe able to collect it anytime during office hours)
So I guess SM is right.....
