Speak to Msimbati (the runner that was at my birthday dinner). I can put you in touch if necessary.

Bring your camera. Go to Bagan, there is a spot on a specific temple where it"s great to watch the sunset. saw great pics taken from a hot air baloon.expat yorkshire wrote:I am heading to Myanmar on a solo photo trip

Re: Myanmar
You going with Obama?
I wonder about the guys who built all the temples at Bagan...
I can imagine a Baganian bloke waking up one morning and saying to he Baganian mate. "what shall we do today, mate?" "How about we build another temple", his mate replied... and so on and so forth in a ground hog day kind of a fashion
Photos of Bagan temples, the big gold one in Yangon the name of which escapes me. Men punting with their legs on Inle Lake, Women and kids with sandalwood sunscreen on their cheeks. A lot of monks - partic when the go around collecting alms in the morning. Sadly I gather the cats that jump through hoops are no more..

U Bein bridge with a monk walking over it. Best if you get the monk as a silhoutte
Re: Myanmar
Was there for a fortnight Xmas/NY last year. Depends what you are interested in. Personally landscapes not really my thing, but you can get fab shots all over: Bagan would be the obvious choice and make a beeline through Yangon to get there. Hot air ballooning was amazing. Mandalay was boring city but the surrounding areas are interesting (landscapes and just general village/daily life). Central Highlands/Inle Lake if you are interested in connecting (and photographing) people. Not to say the landscapes are not stunning there also. You can do a round trip Yangon - Bagan - Mandalay - Central Highlands - Yangon. Fly with Air Mandalay or the more modern Yangon Air. If you have time then I would also go to Sittwe where its pretty underdeveloped (apparently). Would love to visit the north east, but tourists are not allowed there.

Re: Myanmar
JJ that first picture looks amazing, nearly like a painting not a photograph at all. Must have been a stunning balloon trip.
