Budget Singapore Hotels
I have my cousin and 3 of her friends coming to stay for a few days early in the new year. I'll be housing the cousin but there is no room for the other three 23yo females at my place. The hotel 5mins walk from me is closing for renovations while they are here so I need to find them something cheapish but not too dodgy.
Any suggestions other than FM's or FB's spare rooms ?

so they can earn the money to pay for the night? What about the famous "Budget" hotels? Aren't there some which aren't as dodgy?

I've put lots of people up here and never had a complaint. Two minutes walk to Orchard road, five minutes to Clarke Quay.

I reckon this place must be worth a look. It's a B & B on the penthouse of one of the Spottiswoode Park blocks, apparently very nice. Would be great for backpackers. Not near you, Baloo, but they could walk to the MRT and it's close to town ( Tanjong Pagar )
I think the rooms were about $65 a night.
Unfortunately their website is down, and I don't know the phone number, but here's a look. I'd stay there

My friend swears the Fragrance on Lorong 6 is ok. Not Lorong 20 though.
For more hostelly type places there's the Mount Emily one and there's also the Betelbox which is very close to you, Baloo. (Or is that the one that's closing?)

Another for Lloyds Inn one of Singapore's best kept secrets. Thats where I stay when I'm in town now. I recommended it years ago on the Merv board maybe FM got from there.

Prince of Wales pub in Little India is a backpackers place. Never stayed but was speaking to the owner a few weeks ago and he said is was good but cheap accomadation. You might want to check it out before booking.

I remember seeing that, but actually the Lloyd is less than 100 yards from where I live, so I had scouted it out independently. Great litle spot. If they had a pool in the garden I'd move in full-time -- cheaper than renting an apartmentskank-la wrote:Another for Lloyds Inn one of Singapore's best kept secrets. Re: Budget Singapore Hotels
Got a cheap flight and now need a hotel in Singapore for the first time in my life Currently checking out the hotels mentioned above and hoping for the Lloyds Inn. I need something close to public transport (MRT) and close to Clementi. No money for luxury this time so I was wondering how dodgy those Hotel81s and Fragrance really are? (they are a lot cheaper if they are in Geylang but the one in Chinatown is 160+).

Re: Budget Singapore Hotels
Dont do it those places are strictly 'short time' hotels w/teeny hamster rooms w/poor lighting
Quality Hotel on Balestier Road was always a good cheap hotel. Mostly Australian Tour Groups & long term Russian 'Hostesses' back in the day

We've just booked the Hangout, Lichty. We figured, all we're going to do there is sleep.

Right, the RELC it is. Is there any board event next week I could pop by, say hello and spoil the fun?
