Has anyone else exprienced this new 'welcome to Singapore' strategy?

That's certainly true anywhere; if you fly into Heathrow from Japan or Singapore they rarely bother stopping anybody but that's not the case from Amersterdam, South America or the 'favourite' flights from the West Indies. Being searched coming from Indonesia into Singapore is nothing unusual, seems to happen quite often in the port and as somebody said from Bangkok. Drugs are the most likely reason.expat yorkshire wrote:I have spike its very rare though.... They seem to target certain flights.
I did understand, it happened on a when I arrived at Changi from Bangkok, crew as well although on that occasion they weren't frisking anybody although I have seen the customs do that at the port when ships arrive from Indonesia (my experiences are a little dated now).Kooky wrote:This is not just the odd person that's taken to the side and frisked; they screen the whole flight, i.e., to get to arrivals you have to do the reverse of passing through the gate and the screening machines.
