what's icq ? (in the context of aim/messenger chat etc)

i could just chocolate this right.....

ICQ was on of the first internet messenger type platforms. Like MSN, Yahoo, AOL etc. They were bought out by AOL and never really made the big time after that. If I could only remember my password, I have a 6 digit UIN which is real old school.

I still use it for certain applications. Its relatively feature-free (ie fast) interface makes it quite good for real time communications within businesses.

It's also an interesting type of abbreviation, the letters make the words "I seek you".
