How to find a nice employer for my helper
I maybe heading back to Oz in a month or so and want to know the best way to help our wonderful helper get a decent family to work for. I'm exploring her coming to Oz if she's up for it but don't fancy my chances at all. UK is possible but not Australia.
Where are the best places to advertise and look around? American Club - do I need to be a member? Any suggestions welcome.

I thought if you had had a helper for at least a year you could take them to OZ? Or is that the UK...
Poss could put a notice up at the American Club, that is where I found T.

"I really love you" she said. "Is that the champagne talking" he asked. "No" she laughed. "That's me talking to the champagne"

No A - that's the UK that will allow helpers back. Australian Government are totally inflexible. No way in at all! I'm exploring a student visa as that's about the only way I can see. Not looking good though.

I think you have little chance of getting her any type of visa in Australia, KK. Friends from Sing wanted to bring their helper over to Aus for a visit when the second child was born, and it was a complete hassle to get her over just for 2 weeks and all sort of issues at Sydney airport.

Yep I know Daff. I've tried all angles and the last angle is a student visa which is a major hassle and ridiculously expensive. To do a TAFE course is $4k to$19k plus you have to pass an English test so that means more courses.
Heartbreaking as she's really become part of the family...

KK: One of my baby group has just e-mailed to say she's looking for a nice helper. One child (15 months) and one due in August (?). Nice British couple. Do you want to PM me your contact number?
