Those crazy Aussies

Post by Kooky » 25th Oct, '09, 10:13

They turfed the Harbour Bridge today, for a breakfast party. I sincerely hope they cleared it up before the torrential rain started a couple of hours ago.

It looks fun - did consider applying for tickets but had a big day out yesterday and didn't fancy getting up so early today.

About the same number of people that you would normally see while driving on main roads in India. There'd be more cows though. (Bovine ones)

I heard or read that all this October activity (the Crave festival, of which breakfast was a part) came about because, well, there was nothing going on in Sydney in October.

Very practical, the Aussies. :)

Definitely a fun idea! But, I have a question.....how did all the people who needed to get across the bridge (driving) get to the other side - since they couldn't use the bridge?

We also have more than one bridge, slinks. :)

Trains were running over the Harbour Bridge, too - I wasn't sure they would be but I saw a photo to that effect. Hope they didn't scare the cows.

The bridge was closed a few weeks ago for the Sydney Running Festival too - Neo ran it.

Is there an echo in here?

Unfortunately the abundance of methods of getting over the harbour means that the Lower North Shore regularly gets taken over by drunken louts from the south. Bit of a shock that, to migrants that read that Manly is posh and settle there [smilie=rotflmao.gif]
