Rugby weekend!
With our resident rugger bugger off playing with the fishees, guess I may be talking to myself on this one
Bledisloe 1 at Eden Park, massive game for both sides with most betting on the Kiwis it seems. I'm not so sure, this relatively young Wallaby team could just end the EP drought, so I'll go for Australia by 4+ to kick off the series.
Other game of interest (to me anyway !) is Wales v England at Twickenham. Lots at stake for the individual players with RWC squads still to be finalised , head going over heart, really can't see the Boyos coming away with a victory this weekend.
So, game on!

Re: Rugby weekend!
Now that was a much better weekend for my teams!
Wales beating England at Millenium, in spite of a tragic pitch, great defense although too many penalties given away, good to see a bit of hwyl back in the Boyos
And the Wallabies beating SA, didn't see that one but a win away is not to be sniffed at.

Re: Rugby weekend!
England were shocking at the Millenium stadium, obviously someone said "hey, we're 6-3 down after 10mins - we've got our backs to the walls and the only way we can win this is by scroing tries" - which they then failed to do.
Luckily I know they were trying to put things from the training camp into place, but still, none of them worked. Horror show indeed. I think a few people had their flights to NZ cancelled on that performance.
The reason you kick you penalties early is to put pressure on the defensive team and show them that they have to defend without giving away penalties. This opens the game up after 50+ mins once they are knackered and into their reserves - you can then go and score the tries you want!
Wales: nothing taken away from you. Great defending, and played the game how you should.
Bring on the RWC, bored of these bit games now!

Wales play the Pumas next weekend, which should be interesting, haven't seem much of Argentina in a while. Don't England play Ireland as well?

Eng Ire is not until Aug 27th, so after the squad has been named. I'm hoping England put out a starting XV in order to give them game time before Argentina on Sept 10th. They need it indeed....unless it all goes horribly wrong!

Re: Rugby weekend!
England put together a better performance than 2 weeks ago against Wales. Tuilagi is looking the part after only 2 games, cracking open another defence with a powerful and arcing run. Nearly did it again but saw it was his club mate chasing him down...tut tut! Tindal had a good defensive game, and the rest did well to score our first win over the Irish in Dublin since 2003. And we know what that team went onto do.
A couple of more injuries both sides, though I think the Irish injuries are more serious. Let's hope all make good recoveries and get a run out at the RWC.
Ireland: 4th straight loss in the warm-up games...that can't be a nice thing to think about when you've got Australia, the TriNations champs in 3 weeks time with only a run out against USA before then. I can't see Ireland having trouble getting out of their pool, and they look to be on the weaker side of the knockout stages for the quarter finals with the other pool throwing up the winners/runners up of South Africa, Wales, Fiji and Samoa.
I think I'll be calling 6DrunkMen for a small order soon!

Re: Rugby weekend!
And congrats to the Aussies for rolling over the Kiwis and collection the TriNations. Good match, though the Kiwis were coming back into it at one point and the lack of kicked penalties made it close, but in the end Beale's try sealed it and a tough defense kept the Kiwis out further. Well done Australia, last ever TriNations champions.

Worse thing is, myp2p has just gone down. I think I'll be seeing it at pubs and mate's places. When you installing it, baloo?
