Here's the plan.
If you have daughters they can get a loan and marry themselves off after univeristy and will never have to pay off the loan (they have to go to uni to meet someone who can keep them in the manner to which they are not accustomed).
If you have sons then encourage them into a well paying trade which requires cheap qualifications like plumbing or male prostitution.
With all this money saved you can buy yourself a cabin cruisier.

$10k is not a bad amount of debt. $100k is. With a $100k debt you are paying back $1000/month if you want to pay it off after 10 years. That's a huge amount to start paying off when your average starting salary is $3k. There's just no way to save for that first step on the property ladder etc etc.
