Here in Oz, it seems to be common to have them on 24/7 - some of you may recall my initial confusion at the switch for ours being in the roofspace. It's never off - even when we're away - and our water gets way too hot. Ah, the joys of renting.
Ours too! 24/7, scalding hot.
Tis either a feast or a famine innit!
